Downloaded 3.0.15_b3 (on my MacBook [10.8.3], not -yet- on the Mac Mini)
Did a few tests, and discovered a very minor bug:
When I tried to save my midi-setup, I selected the existing file (BCF2000.xml).
DL asked if it was okay to override it, and I clicked 'yes'.
But a new file BCF2000.xml.xml was created.
The second time, I did the same, but after selecting the file, I removed '.xml' (in the box at the bottom of the window.
This time, DL did not ask if it was okay to override the file, but it did.
Will test more asap.
Happy Easter !
Noel

So far, I am only using 1 Room, but 4 universes (ArtNet node).
When I try to link channel 2 to 'dimmer' 1 in universe 1, DL always selects the dimmer in universe 0.
Also, if I manually change the dimmer in the little windows, rather than using the up and down arrows, DL does not 'see' my change, and still tries to link the original dimmer.
But perhaps I misunderstand how this works ?
@ Nico, could you give an example on how to link a dimmer from Universe 1 (or 2, or 3) to a channel in Room 1 ?
I can live with 1 Room/ 1 Universe (don't have that much material), but it would be great if I could use 4 universes, so I can split the cabling in Front/Back/Left/Right.
Thanks !
Noël

[CH] [1] [DIMMER] [1] patche le grada 1 du premier univers (le 0) sur le circuit 1
[CH] [1] [DIMMER] [1.1] patche le grada 1 du second univers (le 1) sur le circuit 1
Yep, that works. But changes the values in the little windows doesn't. Also, once you click into one of those windows, there is now way (at least, I didn't find one) to go back to the 'command-line, except for closing the patch-window, and opening it again.
But, using the command-line, I can now patch different universes to 1 Room, and start playing with it
Best regards,
Noël

GOOD NEWS: 3.0.15_b3 loads without any issue on my Mac Mini, running 10.6.8
All seems to be working as it should.
Will keep testing, and report any issues.
Thanks !

When you select channel 600, the top of the window changes to Room 2, and channel 88.
Best regards,
Noël
Yes, that would be a reasonable compromise...
Nico...?

tu fais tes tests midi avec le fichier PD que tu m'a envoyé et le mode Display Only Used Channel c'est ça?
@Noel
ok, thanx for reporting that.When I tried to save my midi-setup, I selected the existing file (BCF2000.xml).
DL asked if it was okay to override it, and I clicked 'yes'.
But a new file BCF2000.xml.xml was created.
the little window is the spinbox is that right?[CH] [1] [DIMMER] [1] patche le grada 1 du premier univers (le 0) sur le circuit 1
[CH] [1] [DIMMER] [1.1] patche le grada 1 du second univers (le 1) sur le circuit 1

what do you mean when you write that
?changes the values in the little windows doesn't
to return to the command line, hit Enter, it'll validate the value in the spinbox and return to the command line
@Colin,
nice catchif you want to use the command line to set circuit (channel) 600 @ 60, you get 'channel does not exist,
will fix all that today or tomorrow and publish a new beta for this week-end
thank you guys for testing.

Hooked up a BCR2000, and configured a few encoders, and 'connected' them in the Midi-window in DL.
e.g:
first encoder = Midi Channel 1, CC 0, Min. = 0, Max. = 127, Abs <-> DL channel 1
second encoder = Midi Channel 1, CC 1, Min. = 0, Max. = 127, Abs <-> DL channel 2
...
That works flawless
The LEDs on the BCR2000 provide nice feedback on what the channels are doing, and turning the encoders changes the channel values in DL as expected.
The plan is to use 16 presets with 32 channels each (one for each encoder) [=512] channels.
With 32 presets on the BCR2000, it should be possible to control 2 universes.
(So, for 4 universes, I will need a second BCR2000. Already working on that..)
Yes, that is going to be a lot of work, to set up 1024 encoders. But I'm not in a hurry....
Best regards,
Noël

have a look in the Midi window to the 'new' script function.
it should map the first 512 channels to a CC range.
would you mind trying two things.
- lets's say you have a show with 512 channels, you work in 'Display Only Used Channel' mode, you display the first range of channels (the first page).
Q1 in scene with CH 1 THRU 10 @ 60
Q2 in prepa with CH 1 TRHU 512 @ FF
what I would like to know is if channel of other pages than the one display exports their value to the midi out during the xfade.
for example, if you display the first page (so channels from 1 to 60), does 61 is exported during the xfade.
if no, it's a bug.
-the other thing is that a friend of mine reported that there are still wrong behaviour with Submasters assigned as Speed for FX.
the midi out does not work quite well.
what I would like to know is if you assign a sub as speed and you give it a midi patch (for ex Canal 1 CC1),
does its value is exported to the midi out when you move it?
does midi out is exported when you launch DL? and thereafter if the encoder of the BCR display 50% (as sub speed are initialized to 50%), if you move it, does it move the value of the sub in DL.
does midi out works well for the sub speed when you switch back and forth from subBook x to y.
thanx

Great ! That saves me half of the work. Now I just need to 'program' the BCR2000.
But once I have presets 1-4 (CC 0-127), I can copy them to 5-8, 9-12 and 13-16, and just change the Midi Channels.
That should go rather quick
Will let you know how it goes.
Best regards,
Noël

Lost a lot of time, as BCR2000 did not want to output. There seems to be an issue with the USB-connection.
So, I switched to "plan B", and connected BCF2000 and BCR2000 with midi-cables. After some fiddling with the settings , I managed to get it all working. (BCF set as 'U4', and BCR set as 'S4').
First issue: after running the script (in the Midi window), I configured 3 buttons on the BCF for 'Go', 'Go Back', and 'Pause'. 'Go' seems to work fine, but, if no transfer is running, 'Pause' works like 'Go'.
And 'Go Back' only goes back 1 step, but if I then press it again, to go back another step, nothing happens.
Second issue: I'm happy with the script setting 512 channels, but I want to use Midi-channels 15 and 16 for the Sub Masters. Adding them goes well, but when I try to delete an existing link (e.g. sub master 1 = ch#5, CC 0), the list always jumps back to the beginning, and I need to scroll back down to delete the next sub master link. That is, with 256 sub masters, adding a lot of time to an already time consuming job.
@Nico,
Is the script (in the Midi window) hard coded in DL, or is it an (external) AppleScript that can be modified?
Thanks and best regards,
Noël
PS testing done with 3.0.15_b3. Will download and test b4 ASAP.
