as I'm going on tour on sunday, here's a new update.

what's inside :
-fix a bug with the 'Personality Editor'
-benefit from the compiler analyzer (lots of optimizations)
-fix Sample recording
-new 'Balance' function to isolate selected channel as long as Balance is ON

maybe I'll repeat myself but It's important to test these beta in order to stabilize the first 4.0.0 in order to release it.
my goal is to have a bullet proof release as the 3.0.24
moving lights code will be part of this release as an experimental feature.

A few questions:

Which personality file system is used? Do you use XML data like your other data and if so, do the personality files have to be made by our community for :light?

What do you mean exactly by isolating the channel? I cannot test it live right now so I do not see what it does with the DMX output. Does it act a little like a Freeze function but only for selected channels?

With the old inhibition (menu) one could save the state of that moment. This is very handy when one has to play the same show on the same location on more days. It would be nice if this would be possible with the inhibition on the submasters.

DL use crypted file system for personality as it's sensitive and I don't want people mess them with a text editor, and yes, the have to be made by the community.

almost...
it act like a blackout for all non-selected channels, letting the selected ones living their life.
Device's parameters are bypassed and will not be modified by this command (you don't want the head to move to 0 0 0 0.... while using Balance, only the INTENSITY is modified)

so to be clear, what you want is VOID to be register and usable after a reboot, right?
and if possible that the submaster editor display channels that are voided, right?

The most important thing for me is a save state for the inhibition. I also tend to reboot my laptop before a show (after sound check or something) and then I have to write down all the INHIB values. Also it could help when I have to transfer the show to a backup machine.

Currently my backup machine is updated to Yosemite so I upgraded to 4.0.0 right now on it.

I understand the need for you to save inhib state and I will work on that.

there's two mechanism for the inhib:
-you set a sub as inhib
-you drag'n drop a channel to a sub

the first mechanism isn't recorded?
