ODE & airport xpress

Bonjour, just to notice that I started with an ODE and it works fine with apple's airport xpress router (and with a mac, I suppose that's also ok with a pc). It's good because it's very small and plugs directly to AC.

It has stereo output also, the only problem is the 2-3 sec. delay, good for hearing during set up but no for playing the show...

It's fantastic to record cues wiressly from the gradin, but now my backpack weights some quite more than before with the DMX-USB..

i've also noticed some strange things with artnet...
i don't know yet where is the problem, ODE or DL code. i know a guy that can have access to another artnet hardware than ODE, i will ask him for tests.

Moreover, i'll switch DL to OLA dmx server in the next releases to have access to streaming ACN, artnet, ....
this will need some tests too

Maybe someboody knows a trick to avoid sound delay on airport express... I've been playing alive with dlight and qlab on same mac, all controlled by one korg nanok, shooting light with xfade and sound+video from qlab with sisex buttons (go, pause, step+- etc ) and All nick.

And... i'm not working pour le pomme, but when I get the ODE felt backpack big difference between carrying only small usbdmx box + petit wire than big ODE box + power supply + router+ ether wire + ... ether switch? ... + the original usb-dmx !

so, at least with airpot express the router is minimal, I'm planning to close all this machines and cables in one box, all wired, to just plug in one power when arriving at the theater, and I find very useful the stereo output for playing sound wirelesly, but mierda mierda the sound delay...

by the moment I had no problems with dlight+ODE, but still use usbdmx for playing alive, wifi is very good for adjusting cues from anywhere... the question at last, how safe can be a laptop to not stop the show. If the venue's lightdesk burns out... but maybe 10 or 12 shows with dlight, and I'm very happy. (to have a good supper after)

Homesepia, what are the software do you use to connect qlab with airport audio? I think delay are made by this software no?

There are few year i've test a soft (I've forgot the name) to connect any player with airport audio and there is a bigger delay than with itunes.

the soft is airfoil, and the delay is longer than with itunes, but anyway with itunes there's +- 2 sec delay.

I've been searching a solution but still nothing, snif...
